CodeBrave is seeking a Communications Intern to support and develop CodeBrave's communications. This is an amazing opportunity to work on a meaningful project that will benefit highly vulnerable children, while building skills in communications, video production, fundraising, public relations, event management and teamwork.
The Communications Intern will:
Content: Direct the production of content from three projects in collaboration with in-country team. Conduct interviews (with kids, teachers, parents where relevant) and record videos and photos from field visits on a biweekly basis. Compile into blog posts / social media content.
PR strategy: Build a press list; approach national and thematic press (coding/tech publications) to generate publicity; liaise with journalists when needed.
Crowdfunding events and campaigns: Help plan and organize annual crowdfunding campaigns during Ramadan and Christmas when people are most philanthropic.
Strategy: Continue to develop CodeBrave’s Communications Strategy, including periodic evaluations to track the success of various interventions: which social media posts worked best and why; develop evidence-based strategy of the type of content we want to create. Create an Appendix of key dates for CodeBrave (e.g. International Day for Street Children, World Refugee Day) and create content for those days.
Support with broader fundraising efforts where possible.
Interest/experience in communications and content production.
A high level of initiative and self-motivation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Length of contract
$5 transportation costs per day worked.
